چکیده
Fast and reliable monitoring of volumetric heat distribution during MRI-guided tumor ablation is an urgent clinical need. In this work, we introduce a method for generating 2.5D thermometry maps from uniformly distributed 2D MRI phase images rotated around the applicator's main axis. The can be fetched directly MR device, reducing delay between image acquisition visualization. For reconstruction, use weighted interpolation on cylindric coordinate representation to calculate value voxels in region interest. A pilot study 13 ex vivo bio protein phantoms with flexible tubes simulate sink effect was conducted evaluate our method. After thermal ablation, compared measured coagulation zone extracted post-treatment data set output map. results show mean Dice score 0.75+-0.07, sensitivity 0.77+-0.03, reconstruction time within 18.02ms+-5.91ms. Future steps should address improving temporal resolution accuracy, e.g., incorporating advanced bioheat transfer simulations.

MRI-guided laser ablation of neuroendocrine tumor hepatic metastases
BACKGROUND Neuroendocrine tumors (NET) represent a therapeutically challenging and heterogeneous group of malignancies occurring throughout the body, but mainly in the gastrointestinal system. PURPOSE To describe magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided laser ablation of NET liver metastases and assess its role within the current treatment options and methods. MATERIAL AND METHODS Two patien...
متن کاملVolumetric HIFU ablation under 3D guidance of rapid MRI thermometry.
A volumetric sonication method is proposed that produces volume ablations by steering the focal point along a predetermined trajectory consisting of multiple concentric outward-moving circles. This method was tested in vivo on pig thigh muscle (32 ablations in nine animals). Trajectory diameters were 4, 12, and 16 mm with sonication duration depending on the trajectory size and ranging from 20 ...
متن کاملPET and MRI-guided focused ultrasound surgery for hypoxic-tissue ablation combined with radiotherapy in solid tumors
Background: The rationale was to develop an ablation approach to destroy regions of tumor resistant to radiation and thus reduce the time required for whole tumor ablation, while improving overall tumor control after radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: The system is composed of a micro positron emission tomography (mPET), 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and a customized MRI-compatible foc...
متن کاملCT-guided laser probe for ablation of brain tumors
In this study, 22 patients (15-75 years old) were selected and transferred to CT scan for tumor ablation. For ablations, after prep and drep under the local anesthesia and mild sedation in proper position, small incision made and special needle inserted and guided by proper direction to the core of the tumor. Then, laser probe inserted through the needle and laser energy delivered. Although we ...
متن کاملPRF thermometry during MR-guided focused ultrasound ablation in a preclinical thiel model
Background/introduction Proton Resonance Frequency (PRF) MR Thermometry is a useful method for treatment planning with MR-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS), as it provides accurate, real-time temperature maps. Thiel is an embalming medium that retains physical properties and life-like characteristics of human and animal tissue. The aim of the present study was to determine the accuracy of PRF ...
